Man indicted with second-degree murder for Opelousas deadly shooting

OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) — A St. Landry Parish grand jury on Friday, Dec. 8, indicted Damian Savoy with second-degree murder in the shooting death of Andrew Wilson in Opelousas.

5 shootings across Acadiana leave 3 dead, 2 critically wounded and results in manhunt for armed felon

Wilson, 26, was shot twice in the area of Overton and Martel streets in Opelousas on October 21 and died a short time later, according to District Attorney Chad Pitre.

Savoy will be arraigned on December 21.
