...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

ST. MARTINVILLE, La. (KADN) — St. Martinville police said a man was murdered and they are searching for his killer.

The victim has been identified as Javonte Anthony.

Investigators said it happened on Washington Street on Saturday, August 3, around 8:15 p.m.

They added responding officers found Anthony inside a home. He had been shot multiple times. The victim was taken to a local hospital and died from his injuries a short time later, according to authorities.

Police said the vehicle pictured is what witnesses told them drove away from the house right after gunshots were heard by neighbors.

They are asking the community to reach out to detectives at 337-394-3001 if they have any information about the case.

The St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office is assisting in the case.

The investigation is ongoing.
