...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

State Police investigating officer-involved shoting

EVANGELINE PARISH, La-- On June 19, 2023, at approximately 4:00 A.M., the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office requested Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigations to investigate an officer-involved shooting on Louisiana Highway 13 at Junction Road in Evangeline Parish.

At least one person was shot and transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries. No officers were injured during the incident.  

Anyone with information and/or pictures and video is urged to share that information with LSP Detectives by calling 337-332-8080.
