...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 20. For the second Cold Weather Advisory tonight into
Wednesday morning, very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until 9 AM CST this
morning. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 2 AM to 8 AM
CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.
