SCOTT, La. - (UPDATE) - Investigators with the Scott Police Department executed a search warrant on the vehicle that was driven by Sean Richard during a road rage shooting. During the search, Investigators found one semi-automatic handgun with ammunition, one 12-gauge shotgun, 14.2 grams of Marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Additional charges were added for: possession with the intent to distribute schedule 1 drugs, two counts of possession of a firearm in the presence of a controlled dangerous substance, possession of a legend drug and possession of drug paraphernalia.
SCOTT, La. - A motorist claimed he was shot at by unknown driver of a white pick-up truck in a road rage incident.
Officers with the Scott Police Department were flagged down in the 1900 Block of St Mary on March 30 at 6:48 p.m. The driver of the white truck fired twice into the driver’s side door of the other vehicle, causing the driver to be struck by bullet fragments.
The suspect fled the area, heading north on LA 93. With the assistance of the Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office Real Time Camera Center, the vehicle was identified and a suspect was identified as Sean Lee Richard, 25 of Carencro.
Later that evening, Richard was located at a convenience store in the 900 block of Veteran’s Drive in Carencro, where he was taken into custody.
Sean Lee Richard was subsequently charged with attempted second-degree murder. He was then transported and booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center.
