...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Sheriff Mark Garber announces his plan to seek third term as Lafayette Parish Sheriff

LAFAYETTE,La. -According to Sheriff Mark Garbers Facebook page he is seeking a third term as the Lafayette Parish Sheriff in 2023.

Garber says, " I am deeply honored to serve as Sheriff of Lafayette Parish. While I am proud of all the progress the LPSO has made during my tenure, our work isn't done."

Garber was re-elected without opposition , in 2019

I am pleased and humbled to share that I will seek a third term as Sheriff of Lafayette Parish in the primary election on October 14, 2023. I am grateful to have been re-elected without opposition, in 2019.

I am deeply honored to serve as Sheriff of Lafayette Parish. While I am proud of all the progress the LPSO has made during my tenure, our work isn't done.

We are continuously improving our efforts to save lives and protect property here in our parish. I look forward to making the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office the premier law enforcement agency in Louisiana.
