LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — The Cajuns face in-state foe, Tulane, on Saturday at 11 a.m. so make sure to get there early.
This is the first time in 12 years that these two teams have faced each other.
Tulane comes into Cajun Field off a 34-19 loss to No. 15th Oklahoma. The Cajuns have won their last two games and see this as one of their toughest matchups yet.
Helping out the team will be running back Dre'lyn Washington, who is cleared to play Saturday. Another offensive weapon is wide receiver and scoring threat, Jacob Bernard, who only has 26 more yards before hitting 1,000 all-purpose yards with the team.
"No doubt, this is going to be the toughest challenge we have faced in three games,” said head coach Michael Desormeaux. “It's a really good football team. They play good defense. They are physical. They are aggressive. On offense, they have really good playmakers. They have a good quarterback, young quarterback that is extremely talented. He is going to be pretty special I would say as time goes on.”
But the Green Wave will have its work cut out for them. At the moment, the Cajun defense is ranked No. 10 nationally, only allowing 222 yards per game.
