WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Lafayette Police Investigating Overnight Shooting

Lafayette, La. - Officers responded to the 2800 block of NE Evangeline Thruway in reference to a victim being shot multiple times on November 29, 2021 at around 10:26 pm.

The victim was transported to a local hospital and is reported to be in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are actively working this shooting. As more information is received, updates will be sent out.

Anyone with any information are asked to call Lafayette Police Department or Lafayette Crime Stoppers at 232-TIPS.
