* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Argument leads to deadly shooting on C O Circle in Lafayette; victim identified

Lafayette police said a man is dead after a shooting on C O Circle late Friday night. The victim was later identified as Rickey Christian, 65, of Lafayette. Investigators have not yet identified a suspect.

LAFAYETTE, La. — The Lafayette Police Department responded to the 200 block of C O Circle in reference to a shooting incident in progress on Friday, November 8 just before 10:15 p.m.

Upon arrival, a man was located in the area suffering from an apparent gunshot wound to their person. The victim was taken to a local hospital where he unfortunately died as a result of the injuries sustained during the shooting.

The victim was later identified as Rickey Christian, 65, of Lafayette.

A crime scene was established and investigators were called out to the scene. It was later determined that the victim was engaged in a dispute in the 200 block of C O Circle when a suspect fired a gun and the victim was hit.

The incident remains under investigation, as LPD investigators are working diligently to develop the identity of the suspect.
