The Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office is searching for a suspect involved in an incident early Thursday morning after a deputy discharged a weapon during an altercation.
The sheriff's office says it happened around 6:15 a.m. near the Fox Run Apartments off Pinhook Road just south of Verot School Road following a report of a suspicious person near the complex. A spokeswoman says the person was involved in an altercation with responding deputies at which point one of them fired a shot at the suspect.
