...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 20. For the second Cold Weather Advisory tonight into
Wednesday morning, very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until 9 AM CST this
morning. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 2 AM to 8 AM
CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Legendary Players of the Week: Parker Bruno and Ayson Hollier

The Courtesy Automotive Group Legendary Players of the Week for Week 10 are running back Parker Bruno of Acadiana and linebacker Ayson Hollier of St. Thomas More.

LAFAYETTE PARISH, La. (NEWS 15) — The Courtesy Automotive Group Legendary Players of the Week for Week 10 are running back Parker Bruno of Acadiana and linebacker Ayson Hollier of St. Thomas More.

Our two players of the week come from powerhouse football teams, both looking to get back into the state title game.

"We are very excited; we haven’t played really a full game since STM, so this is going to be a good game,” said Bruno. “Coach told us this is going to be a war and it’s going to be a battle every quarter."

When he refers to ‘playing a full game,’ he means that the Wreckin’ Rams have been beating teams so bad that the clock is run in the second half to end the matchup quickly.

When they bang heads against John Curtis the contest should go the distance. The Rams had a bye week after beating Carencro, 51-7.

"Good, you know? We got in there and do what we got to do. We didn't get beat up too bad. Gave us a chance to go into our bye week and get that chance to recover, so we can be as good as we can be going into this week for John Curtis," added Bruno.

Hollier and the Cougars also had last week off due to the bye before they welcome St. Augustine.

"I think it feels good; it gives us confidence after a bye going into playoffs,” explained Hollier. “I think we are ready."

The Cougars dealt with adversity early on in the season, losing three out of their first four games.

"These teams exposed us earlier in the mistakes we need to fix and we fixed those mistakes easily and picked up those six wins in a row," noted Hollier.

Both of these players were in the state title game last year. One took home the hardware and the other had to wait until this year for another shot.

"It's something we talk about all the time. Like, we really want to get back there. It was a great experience. Now, we just got to finish the job," emphasized Bruno.

"I mean, we are expecting it. It's what we are striving for," stated Hollier.

This week, both players take their first steps in getting back into the hot seat of the state championship game.
