...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Crash closes I-10 East near Scott; all lanes reopened

SCOTT, La. (KADN) — Officials with the Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) said I-10 East has reopened after it was closed past LA 93 in Scott due to a crash.

They added backups were about 10 miles long when traffic was allowed to move again just before 6:30 p.m.

It is unknown if there were any injuries in the crash.

The cause is being investigated.
