LAFAYETTE, La. (NEWS 15) — For a second straight day, heavy rain fell across parts of Acadiana. The rain brought with it potential flood concerns after a month of no moisture.
And with this rain, many eyes are on the Vermilion River. It was pretty high at Vermilionville on Friday.
The Vermilion hit the 10-foot mark, which is flood stage. But a break in the rain has allowed the river to drop down a bit, below flood level.
