...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 20. For the second Cold Weather Advisory tonight into
Wednesday morning, very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until 9 AM CST this
morning. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 2 AM to 8 AM
CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Driver arrested for deadly hit & run that killed Rayne woman

UPDATE: LAFAYETTE, La. -- An arrest has been made in Sunday night's fatal hit-and-run crash in Lafayette Parish.

Jacob Privat, 34, was arrested and charged with Felony Hit-and-Run Involving a Death on Monday.

39-year-old Crystal Dogay of Rayne was killed in the crash, which occurred in the 1000 block of Toby Mouton Rd.

Dogay was traveling on a bicycle when she was struck by the ?vehicle, resulting in the fatal injuries.

The investigation remains ongoing.
