...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, very cold wind chills
as low as 20. For the second Cold Weather Advisory tonight into
Wednesday morning, very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...For the first Cold Weather Advisory, until 9 AM CST this
morning. For the second Cold Weather Advisory, from 2 AM to 8 AM
CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

Keep pets indoors as much as possible.

Make sure outdoor animals have a warm, dry shelter, food, and
unfrozen water.

Arnaudville man found shot to death in wooded area of Cecilia

Sheriff Becket Breaux announced deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call on Saturday, January 4, around 2:30 p.m. regarding a body that was located by a passing driver in a wooded area in the 2200 block of Bushville Hwy. in Cecilia. Upon arrival and further invest…

CECILIA, La. — Sheriff Becket Breaux announced deputies with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office received a call on Saturday, January 4, around 2:30 p.m. regarding a body that was located by a passing driver in a wooded area in the 2200 block of Bushville Hwy. in Cecilia.

Upon arrival and further investigation, deputies found a man dead as a result of gunshot wounds.

Upon further investigation, he was identified as Ryan Charles, 32, of Arnaudville, who was reported missing by family members on Friday.

The investigation into this murder is ongoing and anyone with any information as to the identity of the person or persons responsible is asked to contact the St. Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office by calling (337) 394-3071 or St. Martin Crime Stoppers (337) 441-3030.
