OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) — Opelousas police are asking for the public's help in identifying the man who pulled out a gun when a convenience store clerk asked to see some identification for him to buy tobacco products.
It happened at Andy's Quick Stop at 211 East Bloch Street in Opelousas on Friday, Feb. 23, around 9:30 p.m., according to the Opelousas Police Department.
Investigators said the man indicated the gun was his identification. They added his behavior scared the clerk and other people in the store.
He eventually ran away and drove off in a red four-door car but witnesses couldn't give the make or model and didn't get the license plate number, according to OPD.
This is the car a man left in after pulling out a gun on a convenience store clerk in Opelousas.
