SCOTT, La. (KADN) — A third suspect has been arrested for the murder of a Scott man who accused a Scott police officer of choking him, according to sources.
Jail records show Daylan Williams, 22, of Lafayette, was booked into the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on a charge of second-degree murder. Sources added he turned himself in to authorities at the jail.
Travean Cobb, 20, and Kylan LeBlanc, 17, both also of Lafayette, were previously arrested for the murder of Anthony Babino Jr., 21, of Scott. Babino was found shot to death in the 1200 block of Victoria Street on September 23.

SCOTT, La. — Officers with the Scott Police Department responded to the 1200 block of Victoria Street in reference to a shooting in progress on Monday, September 23, around 7:15 p.m. Officers located a victim suffering from gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead on scene. The victim was identified as Anthony Babino, 21, of Scott.
SCOTT, La. (KADN) — National civil rights attorneys are claiming cell phone video shows a Scott police officer choking a Black man just outside the Scott Boudin Festival.
Attorneys for Babino claimed Lt. Brun Lavergne with the Scott Police Department used what's called a carotid hold on Babino near the Scott Boudin Festival on Saturday, April 6.
Video shows a Scott police officer allegedly using an illegal type of chokehold on an unarmed Black man at the festival.
A carotid hold is defined as when the two main arteries that carry blood to the head and neck are restricted.
