LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — Lafayette police said four people were injured in a morning shootout on Sunset Drive near Moss Street in Lafayette on Wednesday, Jan. 24.
According to investigators, three people were standing outside of a home when a car pulled up with two people inside and one of those opened fire.
Police said two of the three people standing outside were hit and the third person returned gunfire, hitting both people in the vehicle.
They added the pair drove off but stopped a short distance away.
According to LPD, all four of the injured were taken to a local hospital by ambulance. Officers added two of the people are listed in critical condition and the other two are stable.
The person who fired back at the vehicle is wanted by police.
The investigation is ongoing.
