...COLD WEATHER ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 2 AM TO 8 AM CST
WEDNESDAY...

* WHAT...Very cold wind chills as low as 22 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of south central and southwest Louisiana and
southeast Texas.

* WHEN...From 2 AM to 8 AM CST Wednesday.

* IMPACTS...Frostbite and hypothermia will occur if unprotected skin
is exposed to these temperatures.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a
hat, and gloves.

Make frequent checks on older family, friends, and neighbors. Ensure
portable heaters are used correctly. Do not use generators or grills
inside.

One arrested; One Wanted In Mary Street Armed Robbery

BROUSSARD, La. -  The Broussard Police Department responded to an armed robbery in progress near a residence in the 400 block of Mary St. on Sunday, October 3, 2021 at approximately 03:50 P.M.

Officers learned that two suspects met the victim outside his residence, demanded money and marijuana. The suspect then threatened him with a firearm. The two suspects  fled on foot.

Officers were able to apprehend one of the suspects; identified as 29 year old Joanasha Martin  who was located with a firearm and approximately 2 pounds of marijuana that was stolen from the victim. Investigators are continuing to work to identify the second suspect.

This case is still under investigation.
