Acadia Parish man arrested in Jeff Davis Parish after ATVs stolen in Texas

JEFF DAVIS PARISH, La. (LSP) — The Clay County Sheriff's Office (CCSO) responded to HE Powersports in Henrietta, Texas, regarding five ATVs that were stolen overnight on December 12. The combined total loss of property was over $150,000. Through investigative means, the CCSO was able to identify a possible suspect living in Louisiana and requested assistance from the Louisiana State Police.

Detectives with the Louisiana State Police Region 2 Criminal Investigations Division (CID) and the Louisiana State Police Criminal Intelligence Unit (CIU) located the suspect, Jamarcus Williams, 31, of Iota, on Saturday, December 14.

During the investigation, Louisiana State Police detectives located and recovered all five stolen ATVs. They also located a stolen 40-foot flatbed trailer, valued at around $30,000, used during the crime.

Williams was arrested for five counts of illegal possession of stolen things and booked into the Jefferson Davis Parish Correctional Center. Williams will also face additional charges in Clay County, Texas.
