OPELOUSAS, La. (KADN) — St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz confirmed Opelousas Police Chief Graig “Twin” LeBlanc turned himself in to the parish jail around 4:30 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 29.

He added Chief LeBlanc, 45, was processed on charges of failure to seek assistance, obstruction of justice, and malfeasance in office. All three charges are felonies. The sheriff noted LeBlanc posted a $26,000 bond at 5:25 p.m. and was released.

Sheriff Guidroz said there is also an outstanding warrant for Officer Tyrone Abrams, 49, with the Opelousas Police Department on charges of principal to obstruction of justice and malfeasance in office. Both charges are felonies.

Detectives have been in contact with Officer Abram's attorney and he is set to turn himself in on Wednesday, according to the sheriff.

St. Landry Parish Sheriff Bobby Guidroz said Chief LeBlanc and his wife, Captain Crystal LeBlanc with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office, were both shot on Dec. 22, 2023, at the home of Opelousas Police Officer Savannah Butler, 42.

Butler was arrested on charges of negligent injury (2 counts), obstruction of justice, and illegal discharge of a firearm. The Opelousas City Council placed her on paid administrative leave while the case is still being investigated.
