LAFAYETTE, La. (KADN) — Former St. Thomas More teacher and coach and North Vermilion High teacher Jacob de la Paz was recently in court again and pleaded guilty to a federal charge of attempted possession of child porn.
The move came because the original charge of attempted production of child porn was reduced after the jury was unable to reach a verdict on that charge during the original trial in May.
De la Paz, 34, pleaded guilty on August 8 to the attempted possession of child porn charge.
The charges were filed after De la Paz sent a sexually explicit video via Facebook to a then-17-year-old North Vermilion High student he was tutoring.
